My husband's (27 M) daughter who he gave up for adoption when he was a teen wants to talk to him via phone calls. He doesn't know what he's doing and needs advice

He was 17 when she was born. Lots of really bad stuff happened between him and his ex. False accusations of molestation, cheating etc. It lead up to my husband giving her up when his ex remarried. The husband of his ex adopted the baby girl. That girl is now 10 and her mom (husbands ex) reached out to my husband via facebook. She says the girl learned she is adopted and wants to get to know my husband. My husband was cautious and nervous about it but felt he should be nice about it for the girls sake. He exchanged some emails back and forth with her, telling him about herself. His ex contacted him yesterday and gave him his daughters phone number. Apparently the 10 year old has a phone number.....My husband is like "i dont want to be texting back and forth with a 10 year old, thats weird..." His ex keeps pushing for them to get to know each other and eventually meet up. My husband doesnt know if he's doing the right thing. I mean, he has no rights to her. We have kids of our own to worry about and he thinks this woman might have ulterior motives for trying to get him so involved in this childs life. Any advice is welcome....honestly any advice including how to properly put into wording that he doesn't want to text this child so he can tell his ex.

TL;DR: Husband's child he gave up for adoption is reaching out to him 10 years later. He needs advice on how to deal with it because he's not comfortable having a child's phone number.
