I found out my girlfriend cheated on me a week before I was going to propose to her. Her friends and family were going to be involved in the proposal. Is it wrong of me to have her tell them why the proposal is off?

I was going to propose to my girlfriend next week. We’d been dating for 3 1/2 years. She had always said she wanted her friends and family to be involved so I planned a surprise party type of thing with some of her close friends and immediate family.

Last night I was at a bar with a guy who after some drinks admitted to me he’d slept with her while I was on orders a few months ago. It was a merry fucking christmas for them I guess. I confronted my girlfriend and after a lot of denying and lying she fessed up.

She found out last night the proposal was supposed to happen. Some of her friends and family were going to switch around their work schedules to come to this proposal and so I want to give them enough notice so they can switch things back if they need to. But I really don’t want to do it, fuck that. I think she should have to be the one to call them all and explain why it’s not happening. Is that wrong?

TLDR: found out girlfriend cheated a week before I planned a party I was going to propose to her at. Is it wrong for me to tell her she needs to call the guests and tell them it’s off?

Since there’s some confusion: I’m specifically talking contacting them to tell them about the party being cancelled and why. And yeah the two of us are done.
