When I was still a baby, mum married dad (not bio, but hes the only one I have). Dad already had a daughter, my big sister. I love her so much, she's always there to protect me and make me feel happy. She's always lived 50/50 with her parents, but her mum plans to move to another state next month, near some of her and her husbands family. However, my big sister doesn't want to move, she wants to stay with me.
The problem is mum is horrible. She yells at us, treats us like slaves, hits us and more. Dad is normally a good dad, but he won't stand up to mum, he just defends her and pretends it doesn't happen. Big sister always tries to protect me. She'll take punishments for me, get in trouble to help me, she's the reason I'm able to be happy. But I know how much it hurts her, how much she hates all this.
I just dont understand. I do want her to stay, I love my big sister, but it's better if she goes. If she moves she'll finally be safe, she'll be able to be happy. But she wont listen to me. Ive just been trying to tell her to go. It was horrible and I hated to even think it it, but I even tried telling her she shouldn't stay for me cause she isnt my real sister, just step. I hate pushing her away, I want her to tell me everything will be ok and to protect me like always, but I don't want her to get hurt. She's clearly sad when I try to make her go with her mum, and always says she will always stay with me.
I feel so confused and scared, cause I love her, she's my real, most important family, I don't care about blood or anything, but I also don't want her hurt. I don't know what to do. How do I convince her to go with her mum? How can I make her take care of herself instead of me?
TL;DR - mum is horrible to us. My sisters mum and step dad is moving away, and wants sister to go with them. I think she should go to be safe. She wants to stay to protect me, even though she will get hurt.
