Last week my boyfriend of a year went out with his friends to a party. He promised he wouldn’t drink because if he did he could get in some serious trouble at work.
Well I found out this week apparently he went and got piss drunk almost immediately after I called him. I’m hurt because he said he wouldn’t, And he knows if he was safe in the end I wouldn’t have cared but he chose to lie to me anyways.
Am I making a big deal out of nothing or could this lead to a bigger string of lies?
Update: he had sex with his friend while drunk. We are not together anymore.
TLDR; boyfriend said he wouldn’t drink then went and did it anyway. I feel like my trust is betrayed, is this a red flag? Could this lead to worse lies?
