I (25F) have one brother (24). We have always been close for brother/sister and I would consider our family relatively close knit. He currently attends graduate school about 30 minutes from our hometown and I live about 15 minutes in between my brother and parents, so in terms of location we are very close.
I had already realized my time at home was done and I’m supporting myself, but It has finally kinda hit me that I will never, ever be as close with my brother as I was when we were kids. It has been very difficult to go from seeing him everyday to maybe once every 6-8 weeks and I hadn’t realized it. We definitely make an effort to keep talking and to see each other, but obviously it’s not the same and it probably never will be again. So adult siblings of Reddit: how do you stay close with your sibling? What are some things to look forward to in our relationship? Did you ever feel this way?
TLDR: My brother and I are young adults and pretty close, but I have realized we will never be the same kind of close we were when living together. What can I do?
