I am in love with a woman and she is ready to commit to the relationship. I however still find myself wanting to do things (travel, party, meet people) probably because I’m a late bloomer. She however is leaning more towards a stable and peaceful relationship. Long and far travels tire her out and she is not a big fan (anymore) of party or alcohol consumption in general.
Another important reason for not wanting to settle down is because we don’t desire to have children. Since we’re talking about a huge time gap of 20 years that usually centers around raising your children that we now have to fill with something else I find myself seriously doubting that a career, bigger house, faster car and modern kitchens will be sufficient for me.
We openly communicate about this but this ‘unrest’ that I experience hurts my partner deeply and in extension me as well.
I also find myself massively outnumbered by guys my age who seemingly are hardwired to dive into serious relationships no questions asked.
I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts about this. Thank you for reading :)
tl;dr: I'm not ready to settle down but she is and my unrest hurts us and the relationship.
