My boyfriend and I are serious and have been together for three years. We have discussed marriage and have made an investment together. A couple of months ago I was using his phone in front of him and saw that he visited a porn site when I was in the shower. I questioned him about it and he shut down. I figured he would open up after some time passes but he never did. Today, a few months later, I made a joke about the website. He got very defensive and said I liked making him feel uncomfortable. He shut down again and I expressed it’s important to me to talk about and he doesn’t want to. He feels like I am not respecting his feelings and I feel he is not respecting mine. I asked him if he will be willing in the future to talk about that stuff together because it can be part of our sex life and if he was so uncomfortable why would he do it when I was in another room? I got nowhere and I feel pushed away. Any advice?
Tl;dr my boyfriend shuts down when I bring up porn or discussions about sex. It makes me feel pushed away and both of us end up upset.
