My boyfriend of 6 months was really into me February-May. He always wanted to spend time with me, and he was actually the one to convince me to try a relationship. However, things started opening up after covid and when the weather turned warm. He's taking a 2 week vacation at the end of July, and he's been standoffish, and he even said he feels like he's in player mode now that things are opening up and the weather is warmer. He also said he's much busier in the summer with chores and housework.
This guy was really caring, attentive, and remembered nearly everything I told him. But now he's like a different guy. Should I be understanding because of this bizarre circumstance with post covid, or cut him loose? He seems like a completely different person now. We have had a couple of fights, but nothing that I thought was that major.
TL;DR Boyfriend of 6 mo suddenly wants freedom post covid, should I breakup?
EDIT: Also, I did suggest we take a break 2 weeks ago because he didn't have much free time and he seemed distant. I suggested it twice. He said that, no, he didn't think we needed that.
