My best V-Day was 40 years ago, when I burned my goodies with hot water, and then had my shirt light on fire like the the Scarecrow. This last one was better - I got her back from the hospital.
TLDR: The best V-Day was our first together. There were some small issues (burning/fire), but I was SO HAPPY. Then we had to get married / bucket of kids. Then my wife had a stroke at the end of January, and I thought she was going to die. But she came home from the hospital just this last Valentines.
40 Years Ago:
I had a new girlfriend. Super pretty, so nice, and she really liked me. We woke up on Valentine's Day in my bed (shared house, housemate was out). This torchingly hot girl wanted coffee. I head out naked to make coffee. Hurrying, I turn on the machine, and only then get the coffee loaded and pour the water in. The heating element was hot, and the hot water spit out on my goodies. I shouted (screamed like a little girl), and then explainded. GF laughed. Time passed in the usual VDay morning way. Now, she gave me a new red flannel shirt. I wear said shirt while making omelets. Passed my arm over the gas flame, and my whole right arm lights up - shirt is on fire. I beat on it with a towel. GF laughs again.
Find a really beautiful girl, who laughs when you catch on fire or burn your dick? And she really, really likes you? I wifed her right up.
Late January:
She had a stroke. She walked into the hospital, but it was obvious. They jumped on it right away, and were great. However, on Day Two, I was just watching the switches get turned off. Couldn't move her whole side. Speech was almost unintelligible. Subjects were nonsense. BP was all over the place, and they were having such a hard time keeping it down. Doctor said it would get worse for 3-5 days. I didn't think she'd get past day 3.
But she did. 6am of day three she smiled at me when I arrived. (super crooked, but hey...) Then they sent her to 10 days of the Rehab hospital, and she worked really hard to start bringing all these faculities back. I am so proud of her.
So, on V-Day:
I had the happiest VD ever. It was great to bring her home. There is still a long road to follow, but she's taking it a step at a time. Hugs to all.
