about 6 months ago my mom was killed in a car accident in which i was the driver. it was me, my mom, and my brother (4 at the time, 5 now) in the car. it was 11pm, and i was driving us home from the grocery store. A drunk driver ran a red light and hit the passenger side of the car. i was okay, and my brother was okay. the other driver didnt make it.
this is all relevant because after that, my brother and i went to live with my older sister. my sister has a different dad than me and my brother, and our dad died 4 years ago.
before the accident, we were somewhat close. we would mainly text, but we hung out when she came to visit and such. now, its completely different. she absoutely hates me, and i dont think i can even be mad at her for it. she can barely talk to me, and she spends all of her attention on my brother. sometimes she ignores me outright. once, she told me she has to stop herself from speaking to me, because if she does, it wont be anything nice.
i know she blames me for killing our mom. i blame me too. but i am honestly unsure if i can keep living like this for much longer. i just want her to talk to me.
my question is: what can i do? is there any way to get her to talk to me? is it too soon? am i asking too much? im not sure this is even the right sub for this, but any advice is appreciated
tldr: i was driving when the car was hit by a drunk driver, and my mom died in the accident. now my sister (and legal guardian) wont speak to me, six months later. i need some advice on how to approach her and have her talk to me again.
