Not even sure where to post this. My boyfriend (30yrs old) has still not been vaccinated mainly due to his mom being convinced that there is going to be some terrible long term side effects. She worked in vaccine development for 20 years, so she is not a stupid person. But this feels completely irrational to me.
His sister has already given up her job because they told her she needed it. He is still on the fence and it hasn’t been mandated by his work yet but I know it’s just a matter of time. I feel like he is in an impossible spot with his mom as she has called him completely distraught about how she will have anxiety for years if he gets this vaccine. I love him, but I can’t stand by and watch him make the mistake of walking away from a successful career over this. His mom has never been anything but kind to me and I don’t want to come between family, but I feel like her level of anxiety over this is not normal and putting it on her adult kids is completely unfair. I don’t even know where to go from here.
Tldr: boyfriends mom has extreme anxiety over vaccine that is stopping him from getting it and could result in him giving up job
