My girlfriend of about a year cheated with my best friend, and I lost both her and the friend. After a while though we decided to try it again. I could accept that she'd just made a mistake and I've seen first hand how guilty she feels and regretful, so that's enough for me, but I said that if we were to date again she'd have to cut him off completely, because it makes me feel anxious when they hang out and she agreed at first, but now a few weeks in she wants to renege, calling it too controlling and dismissing my insecurities as just my issues.
I want to know, am I being too controlling? Is it not my place to interfere, and should I just trust her to not repeat the same mistake, and is it just time to move on if I'm unable to trust her with this? Or is this boundary reasonable?
I'm a little confused and this is my first real relationship and I don't feel confident in how I'm reacting to everything.
TL;DR; : My girlfriend cheated with my best friend and calls me controlling for telling her to cut him off—am I?
