My wife [f35] doesn't work yet spends more than me [m36].

I'm not that good at finances and I just said basically that we just share the money. We've been together 4 years but married nearly a year.

She recently bought a handbag for £500, which is fine I guess. She spends a lot of time shopping for things just for her, but I think she buys too many gifts for people too.

I recently got paid a bonus from work of 3k, and I don't want to put it into the main account.

Would it be wrong of me to set up a private account that she can't burn through.

TLDR Before you say divorce her, I will talk it through with her, I just don't know how to stop her spending all my money without causing an argument.
