I’m [25F] expecting a pretty large inheritance that I’ve managed to keep a secret for most of my life. A family member [20F] found out and is threatening to tell everyone unless I give her money.
Long story short my family had a lot of land and businesses at one point that my great great grandfather sold to the government to be part of a national park. I don’t know how the particulars work outside I get it on my 35th, but I know it’s enough money to where I’d never have to work again if I didn’t want to.
My parent is a addict so it’s skipping them and going only to me.
Thing is, I haven’t even told my fiancé yet. I make enough money to support both of us as it is and I know what people get like once money gets involved. People get big eyes and make all these plans and I just want my life to stay as it is for now. Maybe in ten years or so I’ll change my mind, but I like my life now. And I don’t want distant family or friends asking for monetary help, and I don’t want to go off grid.
Should I just suck it up and let her spill? It’s so far away I doubt many people will remember but I also don’t want to deal with everyone.
What would you guys do?

TL;DR: Young family member is threatening to spill info about my eventual inheritance unless I pay them.
