Mom [48f] makes me [16m] wash some of her and my sister's underwear by hand. It makes me uncomfortable but she insists I do it.

When it’s my turn to do the laundry, it often includes a lot of loose underwear that taints everything else (pink, red, special fabric, etc.). So… you gotta wash it by hand, except I hate washing my mom’s and sister’s (16) underwear with my hands.

I have no trouble just grabbing it and throwing into the washing machine, but actually washing it by hand is F weird, right? RIGHT?! Particularly my sister’s, ehem, interesting, underwear.

I told mom about this recently as this whole “working by shifts” thing is kinda new, and she just gave me a looooong rant about how in her time, everybody washed everything by hand (Which isn’t even true?? I’ve heard grandma talk about using electrical washers) and I was being silly for being weirded out by my family’s underwear.

Am I overreacting or is it really weird to be forced to wash your family’s underwear by hand? Should I try to convince mom about this or just accept my “fate”?
