My (27F) little sister (11F) is terrified of her stepdad (40sM) and our mum (45F). How do I help her?
Some info that's important: my mum was super abusive to me when I was a child until I left her house at 21. I looked after my little sister from when she was born until I left, and afterwards we maintained a very close relationship. I've always told my sister that she can tell me anything confidence and I won't take any action without her input on the matter, and if I could I would try and find a way to take action without my mother and her boyfriend finding out she told me.
My little sister is staying with me this weekend. She and I were talking as usual, and she revealed to me that she is terrified of my mum's partner. That's the word she used. She then told me that he screams at her for anything, stupid things like forgetting to open her curtains or not putting enough milk in my mum's tea. She also told me that she finds him "creepy", and that he hits her. He always passes it off as a joke, he'll smack her on the head and pull her hair when he's walking past her. He also is constantly demeaning, picking on her about how she dresses and how she does her hair etc. She has told him that hitting hurts her and he essentially tells her its just banter and to grow up. My mum defends him and threatens to stop her doing things she's looking forward to, for example staying over at mine.
I've confirmed all of this with another sister and a brother who are often at my mum's house. They don't want to rock the boat so dont intervene.
The social work have already had reports about them and nothing has been done. On top of that my sister is begging me not to do anything, but I dont see how I can leave this. Any advice at all would be helpful here.
Tldr: My little sister and I are very close. She confided in me that she is terrified of my stepdad and that he hits her as a "joke". Siblings confirmed but won't intervene. Little sister doesn't want me to do anything, but I can't leave it like this.
