I just caught my boyfriend lying about finances for the 4th time throughout the course of our relationship.
We’ve been in counseling, I’ve tried helping him manage his money better, and I’ve tried laying off and letting him handle it.
He’s lied again recently just a few months after a large financial transgression that almost ended our relationship.
My heart is broken and I love him, but I deserve better and I know that. He is a wonderful person but has some shame about money clearly, that my support isn’t helping him feel more honest.
Sadly, I barely think about the poor money management and am so focused on wondering how a man that I look up to and care for so much can point blank lie to my face. I think it’s over and I’m still in denial.
Tl;dr; boyfriend lied even after it almost destroyed our relationship. I feel heartbroken but my morals cannot let me stay with someone who can lie to my face. Am I making too big of a deal of this?
