I ended up locking my door with a metal fork and knife as shown in this tutorial. The only difference is that I didn't need to cut it, I was just able to stick a knife through the fork. Anyways, for the first few days, she kept trying to open the door and struggled with it for a few seconds before giving up. Eventually, she stopped trying to open the door and the problem was solved. After that, I finally moved out and now life is good.

TL;DR: Used a fork/knife lock. Then moved out.
