I (22f) found my boyfriends (25m) alt Reddit account on his laptop and found posts asking people to convince him not to kill me but he is saying it was just a joke.

Hi guys, first of all I will start by saying I have been with my josh (fake name) now for 3 years and he has always been caring for me and kind and of course like any couple we have our arguments now and then but it’s never anything we don’t work out and he is always apologetic and gets me flowers etc to make up for it.

He has been acting rather odd and sheepish since around September, he seems more reserved and quiet but he keeps saying he’s just depressed with the lockdown and losing his job, however he has been hanging out with another girl a lot but he says they’re just friends, which I started doubting.

Josh has never been one to hide things from me because I’m never the type to check and he knows that fully but this one time I could not help myself but to look.. I opened the screen up on his laptop and it was sitting on Reddit at first and as I was about to head to Facebook I saw a post with the text “kill my girlfriend” that caught my eye. I then looked at all the posts on this profile he was logged into (I didn’t know he had this profile), there were lots of weird posts basically saying he wants to harm / kill me and begging peolle to help him make his mind up and stop him from doing it.

I immediately moved state back to my mothers house yesterday (he does not know her new address) and called him to tell him I’d seen the account and asked him what the hell it was about, but he says he was just trolling and joking about, he never seems the type to like sick humour so I don’t know what to believe!

Please help me to understand what I should do in this, my mother is begging me to go to the police but I just want more answers from him before I do that....
