I (25M) feel completely isolated at work, and it is making me pretty sad.

Like the title says.

I’m a pretty quiet guy already. It’s just the way I am. Lately, however, I’ve been feeling more and more isolated.

My department is about 9 people who are all below 30. Two are above 30. They rarely talk to me.

I try to be more outgoing by doing activities outside of work, participating in fantasy sports, smiling and saying hello, etc.

I am always left out. One thing I noticed is a lot of these people are gossipy, and I get the feeling they’ve talked about me despite not doing anything to them.

I was invited to lunch with them like twice, and now they make plans and chat without me, often looking at me as they invite others.

I’m debating leaving to be honest.

Tl;dr: I’m a loner at work and it sucks.
