I (35f) have been with my boyfriend (35m) 5 months today. Things have been kinda up and down since we both have a lot of trauma from past relationships, but generally we talk it through like grown ups and recently I’ve been feeling a lot more secure.
We had a lovely weekend the last couple days, felt super connected to him and like I said, secure etc. Sunday morning he left to go skateboarding with some friends and I was grateful to have a chill morning alone. We arranged to meet back up at 1pm and make pancakes.
Well he never showed! I got bored and went for a walk, the skate park he said he was at is like in the central bit of my town so I had to walk past it and figured I could do down there and to check in and make a plan. He wasn’t there! I called him and no answer. 1.5 hours later he text to say he’d gone somewhere else and would be back at 4. He never showed and never contacted me.
Weirdly a similar thing happened last Sunday when he was visiting his mum who’s been unwell, but he told me that he’d ended up in hospital after he passed out on his way home! Now I’m wondering if that’s even true :(
He’s starting a new job today so I text this morning just to say good luck but I’m not expecting to hear from him tbh. I don’t know what to do next? I don’t see how he can come back from this with an excuse and I don’t know if I want to hear it. How do I get through the next few hours/days of waiting? I’m off sick from work so don’t have much distraction and feeling very stuck!
What do you guys think?
TL;DR: made plans with boyfriend to meet up yesterday but he didn’t show up and didn’t call or contact all day aside from one message to rearrange the time, but he didn’t show up then either.
