My [29F] boyfriend [31M] needs a place to stay but my roommates hate him. It's a mess and I'm stuck in the middle.

tl;dr My [29/F] boyfriend [31/M] needs a place to stay, my roommates hate him and I'm caught in the middle.

My (29F) boyfriend (32M) had to leave his duplex with just over a month of notice as his landlord decided to sell the place. It's been a scramble to help him move and try to find a new place. I live in a small apartment with an engaged couple (F31, M30) and my lease isn't up for months).

BF and my roommates don't have a good track record. They're totally different people and BF can be obnoxious and abrasive for them. I asked my roommates if BF could stay in our place "while he gets his feet on the ground, for about a week or so." Boyfriend was insistent he didn't want to stay long. I thought he could hop to friends as well.

I dropped the ball and didn't clearly tell him he couldn't stay the whole month of May. He told roommate he might even need to stay 6 weeks, into mid June (he's being very picky about the specifications for the new house and refuses to sublease month-to-mont). Roommate's family are coming into town to celebrate their engagement next week and they don't want BF to return to our place afterwards.

I told him he'd have to find a different place to stay for the last two weeks of the month and he blew up at me, blamed me for this mess and told me to fix it. Is it terrible to ask him to stay elsewhere? Am I being horrible and unsupportive? Do l have the right to force my roommates to live with BF?
