Is it reasonable for me (35f) to expect friends to take a stand against him (34m)?

I was in a relationship for 5 years. My boyfriend is very very personable, funny, charismatic. He also beat me up several times.

I left him, but I realize that some of my friends and cousins (who know the entire story) have remained friends with him on facebook. Even "liking" his pictures and statuses.

This man punched me in the face. Is it wrong to expect MY friends to take a hard stand by blocking him?

tl;dr. I left abusive boyfriend but some friends and family remain friends with him on social media.
