Its annoying and I think it because it is judgmental or that she has already a preconception that I'm not generous or something. I've asked her to stop because I do tip the correct amount (20-25 percent). We also are both college students and its not like we are eating at the most expensive restaurants. Yet every time I go to pay she is staring at the pen to see how much I tip and even says something or asks how much I tipped. Is this not inconsiderate since I DO tip the right amount and I am paying for both of our meals? She says she has to look because she is a waitress herself. So she has some obligation to watch for other waitresses? I don't know. We have been dating for almost 3 years.
TL;DR : Is it right for my girlfriend (waitress) to always check how much I tip on a date?
