I (25f) am still madly in love with my childhood best friend (26m) and I have no desire to date other guys anymore.

I’m posting on here to let this out, hopefully hear other stories and get some decent advice. But, how do I move on from my childhood best friend who lives in another state? We met when I was 12 and he was 13 and I literally was madly in love with him as soon as we became friends. He was/is so funny, respectful, a great listener, humble - just an all around great guy, we clicked instantly. He is insanely attractive inside and out - this guy used to write me songs on his guitar. I’m also into astrology, I’m a Pisces and he’s a cancer so it was so easy with him.

We went through middle school together and even high school, we never were officially a couple or dated - but I confessed my love to him at about 14 and he basically told me it was mutual and we would kiss/go on dates every now and then, but more importantly he was just an amazing guy - my best friend. We never dated due to a few reasons - the main one being his father was sort of ignorant, and as we got closer to the end of HS, he ended up moving out of state for college. The problem now is that we have stayed in touch this whole time and I CANNOT get over him. He was my person. Of course, I have dated - I’ve been in a few relationships but none of them satisfy me like he does. He’s dated as well and I used to get soooo jealous (but kept it to myself) if he ever posted a picture with a girl he was dating at the time.

My point is, no guy has EVER came close to making me as happy as he did. We click so well and I know life is not a fairy-tail and the chance of him moving back and us falling in love again is very low, but I just have zero hope that I will meet someone who will be so amazing as he was/is to me.

TL;DR - CANT get over my childhood friend no matter how many years pass it’s driving me crazy, help
