Over the summer, I went out on a few dates with this guy that I really really like. On paper, he is perfect. Everything I'm looking for. He is a really busy professional with a high-stress job... so he was often "busy." and we would spent max 1 hour together or two every date. We slept together a few times. And every time after we slept together he told me he had a meeting and had to rush out. It always made me feel a bit used. I asked him to order pizza and watch movies and he said he had no time... Then he went silent for 2 months. When I told him I was leaving to travel for 6 months, he asked to see me before I left, but I couldn't make it. He hasn't made any real effort to contact me in the past 3 months, other than replying a few heart emojis to a text I sent saying I was thinking of him.
Then, 3 days ago, he texts me saying he will be in a city not too far from me (1.5 hr. flight). He asked if he could fly me out to hang out for a few days before he returns.
So, I reply to him saying: "Hey, I really do want to come and spend time with you. I was looking forward to getting to know you better when I was home too. But I'd like to know whether me visiting you in CITY is just for fun or whether you're interested in pursuing something more serious with me. I'm just at a stage in my life where I'm looking for a more serious and longterm commitment. I hope you understand. Tell me what you think. No hard feelings in any case."
His reply was: "Of course, no worries"
That's literally it. What am I suppose to make of that?
He then sent one more text saying: "Let's chat when you're back home." which is like 3 months away.
I don't know if I should sit around and wait for this guy to come around or date other people. I just always think in the back of my mind of this guy and wishing for him to want me in the same way but I think he wants a no strings only sex attachment, which is really messing with my emotions and I spent so many nights crying and being self destructive when he just disappeared...
What am I supposed to make of this reply? Please help.
And sorry, English is my second language.
tl;dr: Guy's (33/M) reply to my (32/F) text asking for commitment, no more booty call...
