I wanted to know if i’m just being sad for no reason... So my birthday is a few days before christmas and I was expecting to spend it with my boyfriend of almost two years. I’d be happy with just a dinner and some time together... I’m 27 and he’s 30.
The other day I read through his messages with his brother on FB (he was driving and wanted me to check something on the messages - and I think he forgot that he talked about me with his brother). What I saw was him saying how he wanted to drive back home before Christmas but my “shitty birthday” was there that he “forgot” and i’d be “an asshole” if he didn’t spend it with me. The quotation is what he was actually typing to his brother.
Just thought those wordings were very intense and mean - It did not make me feel good at all. I didn’t tell him I read those messages - Honestly I don’t care if he doesn’t spend my birthday with me - I’d prefer to spend it with someone who wants to ( like my friends or family).
Just wanted to know if i’m being sad for no reason...It’s just sad knowing your boyfriend doesn’t want to spend special days like that with you and think of it as a chore... Should I confront him about it? Has anyone been in similar situations? What should I tell him?
