My ex (21f) and I (20m) had our daughter in high school and since, she turns 3 soon. She lives in another state a thousand miles away after getting a new job. Two weeks ago I got a phone call from CPS in her town saying they have credible reports of possibly child abuse. At first I thought that it was bullshit and there was no way the mother would touch her children.
Forward to today, I get a call again from CPS saying 2 more calls have been reported along with deep tissue bruising that the mother claims came from “going down the bumpy slides”. The physician has already ruled that the home is not suitable for my daughter and the CPS Supervisor (who i talked to), told me to be on standby if I need to go to her town and bring her home here. I have legal visitation (once every 2 months for 2 weeks at a time) and if I do have to go get her, the mother would practically lose all of her rights and I would have my daughter. Which is amazing but not at the time. I’m scared to my core that the mom is abusing her and I was too blind to see it.
IF I have to go get my daughter, what do I tell her if she asks for mom, what will she think? This will be a whole new change for her that I don’t think she’ll adapt well to..
Any advice helps!
TL;DR - CPS has highly credible facts that the mother of my child is abusing my daughter and I may have to get her a thousand miles away. What can I do to help my daughter out if she asks for mom, or doesn’t adapt well to the new environment?
