My boyfriend and I are starting to discuss the next steps in our relationship. A few years ago, prior to us being in a relationship, he was engaged, I'll spare you the details, but basically it didn't work out and they called the engagement off. His ex is totally out of the picture, and it's not that I'm threatened by HER or jealous or anything, but sometimes when I think about us getting engaged, I get kind of bothered that he's already been through this before. It's not his first time proposing to a girl, it won't be his first time house-hunting, etc. but for me these will all be firsts. I don't know why it bugs me, I don't even know if bugs me is the right way to describe it. I guess I do get a bit jealous, that at one point he was doing all of this with someone else. It makes no sense, and I'm pretty sure these feelings are irrational, especially because although I was never engaged, I was in a relationship for 7 years in which we were fully planning all of that, so at one point, I was ready to do these things with someone else as well. Should I talk to him about this? Or do you think it will just pass?
TL;DR: Boyfriend was engaged a few years ago. Now that we are talking about and planning our future, I am slightly bothered that this is not his first time doing these things.
