Tomorrow morning I'm having acute surgery, and I asked my bf to drive me since I won't be able to. He said okay, and then said that he is going to watch football in the afternoon with his dad (family is super important to him) I told him that in that case I will find another way to get there, and he suggested that he can take me there, then drive my car home so I can take a cab if I have to stay for too long in the ER. I'm very upset that he'd rather watch football than make sure he can support me through one of the scariest things that has happened to me, and yes, I've told him as much. Now he's saying that what he meant was that if my surgery takes longer than expected he'll be stay with me, but that's not what he said a moment ago so I don't believe him. Help, how do I deal with this situation in my relationship?
TL;DR: boyfriend would rather watch football with his dad than make sure I get home safely after having acute surgery
