tl;dr Accidentally told her my monthly expense has doubled since I met her and she's extremely upset because I made her sound like a cheap woman
So there was this girl I have been dating for two months, she's wonderful at conversations, cute, and caring at times. She establish early on that she believes the guy should always pay whenever we are together.
As it was within my financial ability, I obliged. Although I'm quite money minded, often calculating my finances to ensure I don't overspend and have enough savings for the month etc. But we are dating, obviously I will spend more.
Then one day she asked me how much I spend a month, I gave her a rough gauge and a bit of a fck up here, I kinda blurted out "it has doubled since we met".
This pissed her off extremely, proceeded to ignore me for a few days. And when she finally called, told me that my statement made her seem like a cheap woman and just after my money. She also consulted her friends who all agreed I'm a selfish jerk. Telling me this is a first time a guy actually complain about spending money on her.
Thing is I meant it as a joke, and I didn't even remember it until she mentioned it during her rant. We stopped talking for a week now, and I'm not sure if we should continue talking
