issues with deciding who gets the master bedroom

My bf (m24) and I (m22) are planning to move in with some friends "J" (m24) "T" f(29) everything was going well until it came to who gets what room. We thought the bedroom's would be bigger but were actually smaller than anticipated especially for a couple to live in.

We asked T if it'd be okay if we got the master as my bf and I would be paying half the rent and they'd be paying a quarter, as well as we need more room for our bed and pets. She didn't want to give it up and got angry.

We think we're entitled to get it as we are paying half the rent and we're two people in a room. She has no reason for needing the master other than her mom said she should have it. TL;DR issues on who should get the master BR with roomate.
