Relationship length 4 years. We have an infant together and we never married. Keep this in mind. I (27f) had hunches from the very beginning. He (30m) would tell me he would never cheat on me because I was the love of his life and the mother of his child. One night I found his second phone and got in. I found messages to multiple women but one in particular that was recent. I found out he had cheated on me when I was pregnant and a few weeks after my c section. I’m utterly devastated and took my child to a safe place. He says he would never hurt our child and scolded me for bringing my family into our relationship issues. But there is not relationship any more. I feel so betrayed but I have to do the best thing for my child. I just don’t understand how I would be at fault for letting my family and friends know what happened as well as his. I just wanted them to know why I took my child. I was blamed for being the reason he cheat and the reason he felt alone. I just want some confirmation that I did the right thing by leaving and that I am not at fault. I have never cheated on anyone in my life. I’m sick to my stomach that someone can fake an entire relationship. I just want some input if I really am at fault. I never lashed out. I never abused any one. I was the main provider for the household. He drove my car and used my things I just feel so used. Should I seek counseling?
TLDR; my partner cheated on me during and after pregnancy. He blamed me for being the reason he cheated. Am I wrong for letting his family and my family know what he did? Should I seek counseling or therapy?
