What traits do you think make a good "Leader"? Who would you say is a good role model, that people actually want to be around?

This sub is generally dedicated to "picking up women", but in a greater scope, I feel like there are enough posters here that seem fairly knowledgeable on different aspects of human psychology. I'm a firm believer that people are animals, and probably more primitive than we like to believe...

Yet on the other hand, we ARE social animals, and I feel like things that consist use a strong Leader -- be it among friends, women, or even work settings -- probably go a lot deeper than "look good, be confident".

For example;

How friendly should a Leader be? Does a warm personality and getting people to laugh make for a strong leader? Or is a good leader "the kind of guy you DON'T want to pass off"?

Is a good leader a member of the team, a peer who only asserts any kind of authority as a last resort? Or is a good leader separate from the pack, approachable but still very clearly above others?

I'm genuinely curious about you guys' views. As someone who is very much used to "being walked on at work", I'm at a relatively new office and trying to actually improve the person I am (both physically, and hopefully mentally).

Also, if you've just never really had to work with others or this all just seems super vague, don't be afraid to just say "I don't really know", but still pitch in your thoughts. I think critical thinking from different perspectives is always a plus!
