My roommate (32/f) is letting men she brings home use MY (23/f) bathroom and it almost ruined my relationship.

My roommate and I have been living together for 6 months- we barely knew each other prior to being roommates but it has been an overall pleasant experience. She was recently dumped by her long term (and long distance) boyfriend and got back into dating. She’s told me about some of the guys she’s gone out with but I’ve never met any of them or seen them at our apartment. Granted, I am often at my own boyfriend’s place.

So today my boyfriend comes over for breakfast before going to the gym and asks to use my bathroom. I say sure and he comes back out 15 seconds later, demanding to know why there’s a used condom in my trash. I was shocked. I just stared at him, dumbfounded and asked him to repeat himself. He asks me again and then says with a look of disgust that he thinks he needs to leave. I ask him to show me what he’s talking about and he shows me...a durex wrapper and used condom in my trash. I almost threw up and knew immediately that it had to be my roommate, as I am absolutely not seeing or sleeping with anyone else.

I call my roommate and confront her. She swears that she isn’t sleeping with men in my bed but that she let one guy use my bathroom because she needed to use hers at the same time. Doesn’t really explain why he needed to throw the condom in MY trash.

My boyfriend heard the conversation and calmed me down afterwards, telling me he believes me and knows I wouldn’t do that. But I feel so disgusted. I’m embarrassed. I’m not even 100% sure my boyfriend really believes me, despite what he says. I told my roommate we were going to have to talk when she gets home but I don’t even know what to say. Or how to prevent this from happening again when I’m not even home 70% of the time....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tl;dr: my boyfriend found a used condom in my trash and my roommate confessed that she let a man use my bathroom while I wasn’t home. My boyfriend knows I didn’t cheat but I still feel embarrassed and don’t know what to do with either of them.

EDIT: for clarification, my bathroom is not a hall bathroom. It’s only accessible by going through my room, unlike my roommate’s bathroom, which is accessible via her bedroom OR the living room and is therefore also considered our guest bathroom...
