I've been with my boyfriend for almost 5 months now and I feel like we've fallen into a routine. Early on in the relationship, we used to go out on dates and make plans to see each other. Now, every week I sleep over at his house, usually from Saturday evening to Monday morning. However, most of the time when I'm there he plays games like DND, MHW or mobile games for hours on end (6-8 hours). He'll occasionally take short breaks to come cuddle or give me a kiss etc. but then goes back to playing. I feel like an afterthought. While he's playing I'll be on my laptop doing work or also playing games, but most of the time I'm just bored out of my mind.
He works an intense, physical labor job at a shipping company (8 hours a day + 4 hour commute) so he doesn't have much time to play games on the weekdays. I understand why he'd want to do it on the weekend but lately I've been feeling isolated and neglected. We'll message each other sporadically throughout the week but sometimes he'll be playing games too and he's distracted (thus giving me incredibly dry responses). I want more personal time with him but he says that I already "get more of his time than anyone else."
He's told me before that he finds it very "intimate" when a couple are in the same room but doing their own thing. I've been meaning to voice my feelings to him but he often gets angry and frustrated when I do so. I don't want to end up arguing with him.
TL;DR My boyfriend and I rarely go out on dates anymore. Instead we stay at home but he spends a lot of time playing video games. How do I communicate to him that I want to go out more and do "couple things" without offending him?
