My family member (22m) and his girlfriend (22f) lost their baby to SIDS. Seeking advice from anyone who has gone through this.
I recently asked this question on r/askreddit, but someone also directed me here too. I want to know if anyone else has been through this, and how they got through this difficult period. A few nights ago, I lost my 2 month old nephew to SIDS. He was an identical twin, and his brother is still surviving. His parents are 22 years old, and very devastated. They don’t know how to process what’s going on. They often walk around in a deep depression, like zombies who speak a lot of nonsense. They talk about giving up, that they don’t want to be parents to the other baby anymore. I know they don’t mean it, but what can I do to help? How can I intervene? What can I say/not say?
