I |29F| feel unsure about kids. Should I break up with my bf |32M| who wants to be a father at all costs?

TL;DR! My boyfriend's main goal in life is to become a father. I'm not sure about being a mom. Should I break up with him?

So this situation started with the best intentions. We've been together a year and planned a day where we would have a long talk about our goals and our thoughts on the next five years of our relationship. Thinking it would be better to plan this time than have it come up during a fight, we went to an art museum on Saturday to do something out of the ordinary and discuss.

Sitting on the grass at the museum, it came up that his main goal in life is to become a dad. He wants this dearly.

I hadn't realized this was so important to him.

I confess, I don't feel as strongly about having kids. I spent my teens depressed and anorexic, but have since recovered. Today I live a full life. However, when I think about kids, I can't see a reason to raise another person in such a painful world.

My boyfriend is mostly hopeful, thinking kids will bring him meaning.

I'm a creative by nature and profession, so my projects already bring me so much meaning.

I don't want to waste his time. Should I break up with him, since he definitely wants kids and I'm on the fence?
