I (35F) have a long-time friend (34F) who is just got married to and had a child with this guy (38M) who is simply bad news. He is domineering, arrogant, abusive, and hates women. He also sexually takes advantage of my friend when she’s drunk and I think he’s been physically abusive towards her as well. He also pushed another one of her friends down the stairs when he thought no one was looking.
When I first met him, as soon as she was out of the room, he hit on me. I very assertively shut him down, which angered him and from then on he was very cold towards me. I told my friend about this, but she brushed it off saying “That’s just how he is”.
The thing is, people LOVE this guy. He’s very charismatic and has a commanding presence. He works as a high school football coach, so people think he’s so cool. When really he’s abusive scum. He has so many people fooled.
What should I do? My friend doesn’t seem to be concerned for her safety or the safety of her daughter. I can’t stand him and don’t want to be anywhere near him. What do you do?
