My BF wants to buy a house that's going to add even longer to my already-long commute. He commented that I've been spoiled but his commute is 5-10 mins. 31f/30m

My BF earns about £2000-£2500 a month. I earn £740 and I'm studying and training to be an audiologist. I have a long commute to work, there's no jobs in our town and it took me a long time to get one that's only one train away, but it's still a 15 min walk from the flat to the station, then 35 min train, and another 15 min walk from the station to my job. I usually only do 3-4 days but occasionally get overtime. I'm more used to it now but my feet really hurt at the end of the day, as I work with people with physical difficulties and am on my feet a lot. It's way too expensive for me to get and run a car, the parking alone is more than my train ticket would be.

My BF works 20 mins walking distance from his job, and he chooses to drive so it takes him 5-10 minutes. He's never had a long commute.

The flat we live in is great as it's near the station, and also near the town so I can go and do food shopping and buy necessities without having to catch buses or walk far.

My BF wants to buy a house soon. I don't particularly want one yet as im not on a good wage, but he's said he wants me to live there and I can just help towards bills. I was fine with that as long as it didn't add to my commute.

However he's asking questions like "Would you do a 25 minute walk in the mornings?" I've said I'd rather not do that, and he's said no houses near the station have decent parking.

I suggested getting one in the next town over, which would take 15 mins off my commute and only add 10 on to his. He said he wouldn't want to do that, which I do understand as he is the one buying the house, so he obviously wants it to be as easy for him as possible to get to work.

But what bothered me is, he made the comment, "I wish we'd never gotten a flat near the station, you've been spoiled." Which annoyed me as my commute is over an hour on a good day and he sees how tired I am when I get back. His is 5 minutes unless there's traffic, then it's 10.

It's causing a lot of problems. My commute is already long and I don't want to add on to it. But he wants a house with parking and says there are none with drives etc. Living near the town is also good as I can do shopping etc.

TL:Dr: BF wants to buy a house that's going to add even more onto my long commute, commented that I've been spoiled.
