(I previously posted about this in amitheasshole, so I don't know if this post is allowed according to the crossposting rule since I don't really use reddit)
So last week, my foster mother offered to adopt me. I've been with her for eight years and we both got really emotional when she offered, and we were both crying. Initially I was so excited that I agreed right away.
A few hours after my initial conversation with my mom, I was talking with my sister about it and it turns out my mom had never brought up adoption with her. My sister's been with my mom for 10 years. My mom does play favorites (she's more engaged when she's talking with me and wilk often just brush my sister off, but she still takes care of money/food/extracurriculars and that) but I feel like it would be weird to take care of a child for ten years and never offer adoption? My sister and I are in a similar situation legally- neither of us are liable to go back to our birth families to say the least, so it isn't that it would be harder to adopt my sister than me.
I personally don't feel right getting adopted by our mom before my sister and it really doesn't feel fair. My sister wants me to agree to the adoption to make things easier for me, but I definitely don't want to be adopted without my sister.
TL;DR my foster mom offered to adopt me, but has never brought adoption up to my sister and I don't want to get adopted without my sister, and now I want to rescind my acceptance unless my sister also gets adopted. I don't know what to do.
