My boyfriend and I have been together 4 years, and living together for the last 2. I love him and have never been happier. We are like best friends, never fight and we trust each other, or so I did, until last night.
He is visiting his family in his hometown, and since he does not go very often, he took the opportunity to go out with his friends last night. One of those friends is a girl, whom he has known since high school. He texted me last night and told me that he had gone out with his friends, and got drunk, then we talked on the phone to make arrangements for today, because he was supposed to be coming home.
Today a call from him woke me up, he was crying and told me that he had disrespected our relationship. I asked him what had happened and he told me that yesterday he was taking his friend home and in the car they kissed, after me asking him more he told me that there had also been a bit of touching. I asked him why he did it, if it had been a one-day thing or if there had always been something between the two of them. He admitted that there has always been a kind of sexual tension between them, but that he is very sorry and wants to fix things, he also told me that he would cut off contact with this girl out of respect for our relationship.
He is on his way home. I don't know how to feel or what to do about it. I love him very much, but I had a hard time trusting him since all my past relationships cheated.
Any advise would be appreciated.
TLDR: Boyfriend drunk-kissed his high school friend, says he wants to fix things and will cut contact with this girl.
