This is going to sound like a plot of a B grade chick flick but trust me it's not. This is as real as it can get.
Basically a month ago, our friend group consisting of both boys and girls and partners of few of them decided to take a long trip to celebrate the easing of the restriction (we are not from US and covid rates are now very low so...). Anyway when we were returning from the trip, we needed multiple taxies for all of us to reach the airport. And coincidentally the number of people per taxi was in such a way that 1 person will be left and will need a seperate taxi. The previous night we decided by a game of cards as to who would be the person. I was unlucky enough to be chosen.
Anyway after all other guys left I found an empty taxi and told him to go to the airport. The thing is... The city we were at, it has two airports. An old one which got converted to domestic only and a new one which was build for international. Both has the same name. I needed to go to the international one. Trouble was for the locals, if u say I want to go to XYZ airport they would think of the domestic one so u needed to specify by saying I want to go to XYZ international airport. Which I didn't say to the cab driver. So he took me to domestic one. By the time I realised my mistake I was 15 mins from my flight departure. So I was stranded alone on a different country with no cash in hand, a bunch of luggage and no sense of what the fuck was I supposed to do. I was just about to start panicking when I got a call from my best friend. Apparently they got stuck in traffic and reached the airport late and with the hurry they forget to check if I was there or not. Only he looked for me and when he realised I was not there he called me. The rest were already in the plane and had no idea.
He told me to stay where I was, missed the flight and came back to me. And then we called our parents and did a bunch of other things and finally found out that due of covid they reduced the number of flights by a lot. Next flight to my country was the next day. So we booked a room at a nearby hotel to stay the night. He tried to book different rooms at first but I don't know what happened to me but I asked him to book one. That night we cuddled. I was still shaken and he felt really comfortable and safe. We ended up losing our virginity that night.
A month has now passed since the incident and I am suddenly feeling very conscious of him. Before I never saw him as a bf type. He was essentially the brotherly nice guy type. But now everytime I see him my face grows hot. I like his smile and feel jealous when he talks to other girls. I used to have a crush before. Whenever I saw him before I would be like ooo he is so nice to me and he is so hot. Now it's like oh god his jokes are so cringe.
So why am I not asking out my best friend. It's cause after coming back he never mentioned that night again. When friends and family asked what happened he would avoid that night by saying that we stayed in a hotel and nothing else. I mean of course he can't say... Ooo I banged her but yeah he never said anything to me either. Or even dropped and hints that he had anything towards me. When we talk it feels like I am the only one having sexual tension.
I think I fell for him because of his attentiveness towards me. When everyone else was thinking about their problems he had me in mind. Instead of leaving me on my own he rushed back to me. But I am afraid what if he felt like I was an irresponsible idiot who cost him so much and troubled him in a foreign place.
So what do u say what am I supposed to do now?
Tldr: best friend helped me out in a foreign country and I fell for him.
