My mother's ex bf(m?) thinks I(f19s) am his daughter.

I am so mixed up and confused right now. One of my mother's friends stopped by my job and asked me to take a break and meet him out back. Once we start talking he gets real serious and apologizes first. Then he comes out with it and explains he thinks my father isn't my father and that my mother's ex boyfriend is my real father. He then gives me this guys name and phone number and explains the only reason he was never in my life was because that's how my parents wanted it. He says this guy is a good man, his best friend and I deserve to know. He tells me my mother and father should have sorted this out when I was old enough to understand. He says his friend, my mother's ex bf, thinks I'm his daughter and he agreed tell me as a favor to him.

I talked to my mother and she just got mad and started yelling. My mom told me never to call the number and that her ex bf beat her and left her long before she met my father. My mother told me never to talk to her friend again and that he was no longer a friend of her's. My mom told me to never speak of this again and to not mention it to my father. My father, the man that raised me is on my birth certificate. I am shutting this out and forgetting about it. But I still have the name and number. I haven't thrown it away. What if it's true? My parents got divorced last year. I don't know if this may have had something to do with it. How am I not suppose to talk about this?
