Hi Reddit! So basically I (F24) have been with my boyfriend (M24) for a little over a year now and over the course of the past year I’ve noticed he seems to be into Asian girls.
For example, he follows a lot of Asian girls on IG, one of his ex gf is partly Asian, he dm’d an Asian girl 2 months before we started dating, once when we were out on one of our dates I noticed him staring at an Asian girl, he enjoys going to Asian stores and restaurants and just seems to like Asian stuff in general which is nbd, also on IG I noticed in the saved photos section he has saved quite a few pics of Asian girls, and he has mentioned a few times that I should dye my hair dark. There’s probably more but that’s just from the top of my head! (Nothing against asians btw, I think they’re some of the most beautiful people).
But the thing that bothers me is that I’m a white girl with blonde hair and light eyes, so basically the complete opposite of an Asian girl. I’ve never compared myself to Asian girls before but I find myself getting insecure if we see or walk past a pretty asian girl. I just don’t know how he could be attracted to me when I don’t seem to be his ideal type. I should mention he always compliments me on how beautiful I look and tells me he loves me a lot which makes me feel a little better but I can’t seem to get this out of my head and I worry he’s just settling for me and would rather be with an Asian girl. I know looks aren’t everything but I’ve been feeling very insecure about this or like I’m a second choice and want your opinions on how to get over this or if this is a big deal orrr just want to know if I’m being paranoid/crazy!! Tell me what you think!!
TL;DR bf seems to be into Asian girls, do looks matter or am I being paranoid?
