My mom (40s) doesn't like public school and thinks my (28) son is too young for it because a teacher could take advantage of him and it scares her.

My mom homeschooled me and I absolutely hated it. I never intended on homeschooling. My husband and I have just put our 3 year old in school. Our son goes to therapy for texture issues, sensitivity issues, feeding issues and is a little learning delayed. His therapists thought it would be a good idea to start him in a 3 year old group at a primary school so that he could learn some social skills and work on his little quirks. My mom doesn't like the idea... She said that she's concerned with teachers taking advantage of him since he's only 3. Her remarks are making me second think my decision. I love my son to bits and completely understand where she's coming from.

Tl;Dr my mom doesn't think I should put my son in public school, especially at age 3. She's making me rethink it.
