I've been living in my new place for about three weeks now and everything has been great, no issues. I met my roommate a couple weeks before moving in and she seemed so cool and basically another version of myself so I thought our living situation would be perfect.
We have completely opposite schedules, I work all day and she is in class/out with her boyfriend at night so we don't see each other much except for in passing when using the kitchen (she has the basement and my room is on the main floor). We don't have much communication but we occasionally text one another when we're out if we have any questions/concerns.
On Sunday, I had a LOT of laundry to do and my roommate slept in late so I waited for her bedroom light to come on before I started it so I wouldn't wake her up considering that the laundry room is next to her basement suit. I put my laundry in and had some thicker, heavy stuff in the load (blankets, towels). I wanted to put the heavy stuff on the drying rack so my clothes would dry faster but her towels were on it (that had been there for a couple days) so I figured I would fold them for her and leave them on the dryer so I could hang mine up to dry.
Fast forward to an hour later when I came back from the grocery store -- my roommate was in the kitchen and was acting kind of cold and not really replying to me when I was trying to chat. I went to check the dryer and saw that she had opened the door mid-cycle and what I'd put inside before I left was still sopping wet. I thought maybe she was upset because of the noise but then I remembered we had a conversation about a previous roommate taking her laundry in and out of the dryer and how it made her uncomfortable.
I haven't seen her since, she came back home late last night so I don't even know if she's upset with me or not.
Should I approach her and apologize for folding her towels or see how she's feeling first?
TL:DR I folded my room mate's clean & dry towels so I could use our drying rack and remembered a conversation where she said she didn't like a previous room mate touching her laundry. I came back home and found the dryer full of my laundry stopped mid-cycle and she was acting cold to me. Should I apologize for touching her towels?
