My 24M ex told me 24F that he isn't ready for a relationship yet he now has a new girlfriend (probably the same age as us)

For context, I was in a relationship with him for 4 yrs (2013-2017). We've broken up for 2 yrs and became and remained close friends when my parents died (2018). In 2020, we started going out again so in Nov 2020, I asked him if he wants a relationship, he said no because he's not ready. I said ok. Now he has a relationship with my friend's friend. It started in Jan 2021. I asked why her, he said he just wanted to "try." I haven't spoken to him since he told me. I haven't been myself since he told me. I just want to understand if he just isn't into me anymore or if he is just trying to make me jealous. I feel like knowing this will help me move on. Thank you for reading.

TL;DR! Ex turned me down when I asked if he wanted a relationship because he's not ready, then proceeds to have one with someone else. Am I being in denial that he's just not into me anymore?
