I have been seeing my boyfriend for over a year, yet we have known each other for around two. We normally get along great. We have had no major arguments, and I am currently living with him due to the global situation. The entire time I have known him he has been an artist and living with his parents. The area we live in is known for bedbugs and slumlords so he decided to move back in with his parents after his last few relationships went downhill majorly.
His previous two relationships were quite a mess. One lasted five years and she cheated on him and left him in financial ruin. The other one lied about being married and kept manipulating him trying to get him to "rescue" her until she finally called it quits to go back to her husband. However, she still tries to hook up with him. My last two relationships involved a lot of cheating and trust issues that eventually ended with my last ex stalking me and damaging my relationship with my family.
With the background information out of the way, I can get to the issues at hand. I am at my wit's end. He is extremely lazy and either sleeps all day or plays video games and watches videos. I am currently a full-time college student, so I do not enjoy studying all day or doing my online courses while he lounges about. He will complain if my area is messy, yet will not pick up his own. I am constantly dealing with my own mental health issues and low self-esteem, so his nit-picking does not help. He also is constantly saying other women are attractive and how nice their features are, mainly their chest. He frequently talks about his sexual history and it frankly makes me uncomfortable. I have told him such and nothing. Every time we talk he just says he will try and nothing gets better. I really want our relationship to work out because I honestly love him.
Is there anything I can do to fix our relationship?
TL;DR My boyfriend is lazy and makes me uncomfortable by comparing me to his past partners. I have tried to talk to him about our issues, yet nothing has changed.
