I’ve lived in my current building for about five years. My landlord and I get along really well and I’ve never had any issues.
She hired a new property manager to find tenants for the apartment above me and he rented it to a group of young guys in their early 20s.
They are loud at all hours of the day, they are constantly stomping around, banging things around. There are always a dozen people hanging out. Their music goes on forever. They’ve lived here about two months and I’m at my wits end. I work from home and I can’t get a moments quiet; I’ve asked them if they could be more quiet in the space above my office but they end up walking over it more often.
I haven’t talked to my landlord about the noise but I found a house on an acre in a quiet place. But I really don't want to move. I never heard the previous neighbors at all and they lived there for a couple of years.
I’m sure it’s more hassle to get a poor tenant to manage their noise levels and I’m not willing to deal with this for another two months.
Should I let her know I’m moving because of them?
TL;DR: new neighbors are a nightmare and I’m going to be moving because of them. Should I tell my landlord they’re the reason why I’m moving out?
